Glyphosate remains authorised for use in Great Britain and the UK’s Health and Safety Executive has extended glyphosate’s current approval until 15 December 2026 to allow time for a full renewal assessment. Approximately 5.8% of UK crop production, equivalent to around £680 million annually, is directly attributable to glyphosate use. 40 to 80% percent of wheat and oilseed rape, two of the GB’s most economically important crops, are treated with glyphosate during production.
